asda BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER DIAGNOSIS | COMING OUT

Trigger Warning: In this video I talk about BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).

I first came across the term BPD nearly a decade ago and immediately identified with it and found great relief in finally being able to identify certain aspects, which I struggled with, of my personality. Unfortunately following a sloppy diagnosis I was offered little to no help and have since been met with a wave of stigma and judgement associated with my BPD diagnosis.

For the past 6 months or so I've also been on a journey towards an ASD assessment and it's provided an interesting insight into the core of my personality and way of thinking and behaving and as such a great many of my BPD traits diminished.

Following a recent BPD episode, which caught me quite by surprise, I feel as though I must come to terms with owning up to the fact that I do have BPD and that's not a bad thing, it just means it's something I must learn to manage and live with.

Just like ASD, BPD comes with its highs and lows and it's set of struggles.
